Bespoke: love-the event

I recently got involved in my course’s second Bespoke exhibition. The theme was Love.

If you didn’t make the private viewing here are some photos taken on the night, and there is still a chance to see the work up in cafe Boscanova in Boscombe.

This piece was created by one of my favorite illustrators and fellow classmates Emily Hughes

The work in the white frame below to belongs to another classmate of mine David Merta

Bespoke: Love

The next Bespoke private viewing is tomorrow night and the theme is love xx Just in time for valentines day. So if you haven’t bought anything for your special someone yet come on down.

Here is a sample of some of the work I have done for this exhibition.

These are a selection of Valentines cards I have produced for the event. They are all hand painted onto hand made cards.

These two are from an etching plate I created in my 1st year at uni. I have then coloured them with inks and juxtaposed them with some phrases suitable for the theme.

Now this isn’t what you might not associate valentines day with but the theme is love so I thought why not show other types of love. Such as love for your friends. This could even be a picture of a group of lads girlfriends.

Bespoke at Boscanova

Tonight is the opening night for my Illustration class’s exhibition at Boscanova in Boscombe to raise money for graduate show in London 2012.

We are on facebook and tumblr.

I’m a screen printing machine

I did screen printing all day yesterday and this afternoon for a couple of hours and overall I have printed about 100 prints. My first set of prints are taken from my recent project illustrating Dorian Gray. I put my original drawing into illustrator and played around with it to achieve this design. All printed on handmade paper

I also printed this design onto pink, 2 different types of green paper and coffee stained paper.

Then I tried printing the design onto 2 different colours.

I have also done prints of cupcakes and teacups in different sizes and on different medias.

I have also been screen printing my Victorian hair loss remedy design I did for my functions of illustration project I finished in the beginning of May.

screen prints

The original drawing I used to create this screen print was created in my first year at university. I screen printed this print in 3 different sizes and have been experimenting with different colours.

This portrait was originally done in pencil about 3 years ago. I photocopied it for applying to the screen and this is how it turned out.

I tried printing onto different grounds as well like this brown packaging paper.

I have then again been experimenting with different colours and media.

Another piece of screen printing I have been doing is of russian dolls. This was the first time I had tried screen printing. I had to screen all the sections separately, this is why they do not exactly fit together.
